Brake Pedal Sits Up 6" Too Higher, Q/A

Question: My brake pedal sits up about 6" higher than the gas & clutch pedals. This makes for some very uncomfortable driving. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Or is this just standard for a '74 FJ40?

Answer:There is a rod that connects the brake pedal lever to the booster to adjust the pedal height. Loosen the nut and turn the rod to adjust, then re-tighten the nut. You will likely have to readjust your brake light switch while you're under there.
